Laura Woodbury, Calvin College

A completely different world exist in April on the Silver Lake Dunes. The sand stretches in all directions creating the feeling of being in a desert. I walked for what felt like miles only to reach the fresh water Lake Michigan that I couldn't drink! So thirsty! There was no one else in sight, the entire day, and it was beautiful to be so alone for a time.

If you go, bring water, wear shorts, check out the mysterious forests, and travel onfoot.

Bon Voyage!
